These hadith about the River Euphrates refer to the conflicts that will take place in this region in the End Times and to many people losing their lives during the course of them. The stopping of the waters of the River Euphrates is one of the portents of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (as).
The "stopping of the water of the Euphrates," in the words of the hadith, by dams constructed on it, and their thus being brought under control, was covered by the press using such terms as;
"THE EUPHRATES HAS BEEN STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS."

As revealed in the hadith, this strategic situation has led to the PKK stepping up its terrorist violence. The use in the hadith of the expression "NINETY NINE PEOPLE OUT OF EACH ONE HUNDRED WOULD DIE" emphasizes that terrible slaughter will take place here.
